Patty Larkin

Patty Larkin is quite simply the finest guitarist I have ever heard. She has mixed folk, jazz, funk, swing and blues throughout her career, and she makes it seem effortless. Her stream-of-consciousness lyrics add an edge of mystery to most of her songs. She was very kind and generous with her time while performing in St. Augustine, sitting for interviews after both of her concerts. The resulting conversations were both informative and hilarious. Go see her play if you get a chance. If you can only afford to put one CD of hers in your collection, make it the new CD "25", a collection of 25 of her best songs performed with 25 of the best-known and loved singer/songwriters! By the way, the opening theme for "Messages" is "Banish Misfortune/Open Hand" and is found on her CD "Angels Running."
